Poster Session Application Guideline
ICAC KOBE 2014 will be holding a poster session for post-graduates and researchers.
In line with the conference theme ‘For the Future of People and Other Animals’, any research topic contributing to this theme is valid regardless of speciality area. The Organizers aim to share and exchange information from a wide range of fields including veterinary medicine, zoonosis, disaster management, human-animal relations, sustainable ecology, food safety, education, etc.
<SELECTION>
The ‘Poster Session Selection Committee’, comprised of the conference advisors, will select the posters. Awards will be granted for the most outstanding presentations.
<DATE & TIME>
Posters will be on display during the dates and hours below. Those presenting posters are asked to be next to their poster during symposium break times to answer viewer questions.
Part 1: Saturday 19th July, 10:00~18:00
*breaks: 12:30~13:30 and 16:30~18:00
Part 2 : Sunday 20th July, 10:00~17:00 (end of conference)
*break: 13:00~14:00
*Presenters receive a complimentary invitation to the Reception on Saturday 19th July, 18:00~20:00.
<POSTER FORMAT & STYLE>
Format: To fit within a frame size 90cm wide x 210cm high (B0 size is not acceptable)
Style: Project title, background, purpose (aims/objectives), methodology and results must be clearly stated. Japanese participants must attach an English translation.
Number of Posters: 15 for Part 1 and 15 for Part 2
*In principle, selections will be based on a preference of Part 1 or Part 2. In case of duplicated subjects, applications will be accepted on a first-come first served basis.
Report: A free-of-charge conference report will be prepared after the conference and will be available for download from the Knots website. The Organizers ask all presenters to contribute their poster data.
<HOW TO APPLY>
Please fill in the Application Form on this ICAC KOBE 2014 website and, when submitting your application, also attach an abstract of your poster topic (PDF format).
Application Period: October 15th, 2013 ~ January 31st, 2014
Selection Announcement: Results will be emailed to applicants by the end of March 2014.
<ABSTRACT>
Please save your abstract in PDF format. Include your presentation title, a summary of less than half a page of A4, plus presenter name and organization.
Please also attach an English translation.
*Poster session abstracts will be printed in the ICAC KOBE 2014 Book of Abstracts / Program, and will also be displayed on the website.
<ICAC KOBE 2014 Award>
Three of the most outstanding posters will be recognized with awards, to be presented at the conference closing ceremony.
<TRAVEL SUPPORT>
—Hill’s Student Support Program—
Poster session presenters will be eligible for a travel costs subsidy to be provided by Hill’s-Colgate (Japan) Ltd. (see below). Please contact the Secretariat for more details. The subsidy will be paid in Japanese Yen on the day of the conference.
Travelling within Japan: 20,000 yen
Travelling from Asia & Oceania: 30,000 yen
Travelling from Other Regions: 50,000 yen
