WSAVA activities: “Global Pain Guideline” & “One Health”
The World Small Animal Veterinary Association (WSAVA) is composed of 93 veterinary associations, representing over 158,000 individual veterinarians from around the globe. WSAVA mission statement is:
“To advance the health and welfare of companion animals worldwide through an educated, committed and collaborative global community of veterinary peers.”
The world Congress is held every year at a different venue around the globe(Thailand in 2015, Columbia in 2016). A lot of veterinarians get together to learn the up-to-date veterinary information, mix with global veterinary colleagues and discuss a variety of animal health topics in the assembly and several committees. There are many activities in WSAVA such as “Global Pain Council” “One Health Committee” “Global Nutrition Committee” “Vaccine Guideline Group” “Animal Wellness and Welfare Committee” “Continuing Education Committee” “Hereditary Disease Committee”, etc.
In this session, WSAVA would like to share brief information on WSAVA’s “Global Pain Guideline” and “One Health”, to ICAC Kobe attendees.
