‘Getting you and your pet to safety, quickly!’

Here is something you can use to escape quickly and safely
with your animal if there is an emergency!

It’s a Japanese wrapping cloth, called a ‘furoshiki’.

This traditional piece of cloth might just save the life of your smallest family member.
At the time of Great East Japan Earthquake, several places were hit by both an earthquake and a tsunami. The areas were large and a great many people had to run for their lives with no time to take anything except their loved ones. Many clutched their pet tightly in their arms as they ran. The ‘furoshiki’ method of keeping hold of an animal came out of this experience, and from those people who managed to survive.
Beyond its life-saving functionality, the furoshiki can give you an important sense of unity and reassurance with your animal while also freeing up your hands for other tasks. So please practice how to use it and always be prepared. Remember, this is far more than an essential survival tool – it’s a great way to better bond with your animal.
