■About Knots
“Knots” is a Non-Profit-Organization acting towards the realization of a society in which ‘humans and other animals can coexist in a more mutually positive relationship’.
The activities undertaken by Knots are extremely wide ranging and cover wild animals, industrial animals and companion animals. Knots provide awareness-building activities, practical information and direct consultation.
To sum this up into one phrase, Knots ‘creates PLACES that are effective for helping realize a better society for human and animal coexistence’.
For example, as part of its awareness-building activities, Knots holds i) symposia for learning about the coexistence of people and other animals, ii) dog events which are fun opportunities for owners to communicate and for people in general to appreciate the importance of better discipline and manners, and, iii) seminars for children to teach them about valuing ‘life’. These are all PLACES where a variety of experiences can be made.
Also, reliable and accurate information, essential to making a better society for humans and animals, is provided on the PLACES, website. The site contains a wide range of animal related information. Furthermore, through research and consulting, existing PLACES within the social system can be changed.
Therefore, Knots is acting on a strong belief that its role is to create many such PLACES where people can appreciate the joy and wonder of human and animal co-existence. By assimilating such PLACES, greater momentum towards a better society of people-animal co-existence will be achieved.
